KARACHI, March 28: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially called off their next month’s tour to Pakistan, a spokesman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said Friday evening.

According to International Cricket Council (ICC) programme, Indians were due to visit Pakistan from April 8 to May 15 for a’ series of Test and one-day internationals.

“BCCI Chief Jagmohan Dalmiya informed us that though they were willing to tour Pakistan but Indian government has not given us approval to tour Pakistan” spokesman said.

He said keeping in view Indian government stand, Pakistan cricketers will also not travelling to India for their schedule trip in 2004.

He however said PCB making contingency plans to fill the gap but refused to elaborate.

It may mentioned here that PCB was considering to invite Kenya for a series of one-day internationals.—APP
