KARACHI, March 28: Man of the Match, Moin Khan, hit a captain’s knock unbeaten 82 guide PIA in the final of NBP Patron’s Cup One-day National Cricket Tournament with a nine wicket success over Allied Bank Limited (ABL) in one sided semifinal at National Stadium Friday evening.

ABL electing to bat first, were bowled out for 171 in 44.2 overs. PIA in response reached the target in 37 overs for the loss of Ghulam Ali, who hit 54 off 74 balls with nine boundaries.

Moin belted nine fours and a six in his 99 balls innings to set-up an easy win under lights following his 174 in the quarterfinal against Lahore Whites three-days ago.

Moin and Ghulam gave PIA a flying start of 109 runs in 21 overs to lay solid foundation for an easy win.

The match was marred by stoppage 35 minutes after lights one of one of the towers failed to function.

Instead of batting side, fielding side ABL refused to continue the until lights of towers were restored. However controversy was averted after tower light was illuminated.

However protest left a bad taste for crowd of nearly thousand spectators.
