Coke boycott in Russia

MOSCOW, March 28: A fast-food chain in the Siberian city of Kemerovo has called a boycott on Coca Cola drinks and other US products in protest at the US-led invasion of Iraq.

A representative of the Podorozhnik fast-food store said that all 109 establishments in the region had been instructed to boycott Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite soft drinks and Wrigley chewing gum, Interfax said.

Earlier this month a restaurant owner in the Urals city of Chelyabinsk said he was refusing to serve American or British customers as a result of the war.

Shops in Nizhny Novgorod have taken a similar decision, while several shops have put up notices expressing regret that they are not able to serve American customers.—AFP
