Shamyl’s late goal seals victory

LAHORE, March 27: Three goals by Shah Shamyl Alam, helped Green Earth Recycling (GER) beat SHV Energy 4 1/2-3 in the Mary Gold polo on Thursday.

Having half a goal on handicap, GER held on to the 1 1/2-1 lead as both teams scored a goal each in the first chukker.  Shamyl  drew first blood for GER, while Malik Asif Yar Tiwana scored for SHV. Shamyl  struck  his second goal first for GER while Ahmad Ali Tiwana banged home  for SHV in the second chukker.

In  the third chukker, GER increased the lead to 3 1/2-2, when  Agha Murtaza pumped in a goal which was also  the  solitary goal of the chukker.

In the fourth chukker, Asif scored his second goal for SHV  to reduce  the margin to 3 1/2 goals to 3, but Shamyl scored his third in the dying minutes to take his team through to victory.
