Cabinet body meeting

ISLAMABAD, March 27: The first meeting of the Reconstituted Social Sector Coordination Committee (SSCC) of the cabinet on Thursday considered the six agenda items relating to social sector development strategy and social sector’s funding requirements for 2003-04.

Federal Education Minister Zubaida Jalal presided over the meeting which discussed progress of implementation of social reforms in education, health, population planning, women development and in other sectors.

The committee deliberated in detail on sectoral strategies and funding requirements for the reforms.

The meeting was attended by Environment Minister Tahir Iqbal, Labour and Manpower Minister Abdul Sattar Laleka, Health Minister Dr Muhammad Nasir Khan, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Dr Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, provincial ministers and senior officials of the federal and provincial governments.
