ISLAMABAD, March 26: The new-look Pakistan team for next month’s Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group I tie against Japan will put in its best, non-playing captain Muhammad Khalid said Wednesday.

“The players have trained well in the camp and I am confident that they’ll put up a good show,” he told Dawn at the PTF Complex, the training base of the team.

“Although the induction of youngsters is a good sign, I think Aisam (ul Haq) would have to be brought back after the Japan tie.”

The ace Aisam decided to miss the April 4 to 6 tie in Toyota, Japan for “not being fit enough” and the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) named Inam Gul in his place to make his Davis Cup debut.

Other two players also making their maiden appearance will be Shahzad Khan and Shahzad Samad Khan.

The senior most member of th party is the tried and tested Aqeel Khan.

The Pakistan team is to leave for Japan on March 30.
