Islamabad declared polio-free city

ISLAMABAD, March 26: The capital has been declared a polio- free city by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Capital Development Authority (CDA) health services director, Dr Saeed, told Dawn.

The official said a delegation of WHO had recently visited the office of the CDA health directorate and appreciated the efforts of authority for eliminating polio from the capital.

The WHO delegation gave a special award to the CDA for making Islamabad the first polio-free city of the country.
