KOHAT, March 26: A boy was killed and another seriously injured when a toy-bomb exploded in upper Lachi, 22 kilometres south of here on the Indus Highway, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

According to the report registered with the Lachi police, the boys Qasim and Ulfat, graziers, studying in ninth class, were playing near their home when they found a toy wrapped in a cloth, which exploded in the hands of Qasim when he opened it, killing him, while seriously injuring Ulfat, who told police the details of the incident after being admitted into a hospital. The police have sent the pieces of the device for laboratory tests.
