HYDERABAD, March 26: The Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party (STPP) and the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Students Federation (STPSF) have criticized the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology vice-chancellor for issuing show-cause notices to some employees of the university.

In a joint statement issued on Saturday, STPP leaders Hoath Khan Gadhi and Muzaffar Kalhoro and the STPSF president accused the vice-chancellor of anti-education and anti-employees policies.

The vice-chancellor, Dr Abdur Rehman, instead of restoring a conducive educational atmosphere at the campus, had issued show-cause notices to the employees as to why their services should not be terminated, they regretted.

They demanded the vice-chancellor should be removed from his post and the show-cause notices issued to the employees should be withdrawn.

Meanwhile, leaders of the SAZDA Staff Union Sindh (CBA), in a joint statement, also demanded the removal of the vice-chancellor.
