Mahar vows to solve people’s problems

SUKKUR, March 25: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar has said his government will resolve problems of people of rural and urban areas without any discrimination.

He was speaking at a public meeting in Mulla Ali Mahesar village, Pano Aqil taluka, about 50km off here, on Tuesday.

The chief minister urged the people to send their children, irrespective of their gender, to schools as it was education that developed a society.

He said education had been made free at primary level and the Sindh government was also providing free course books to students of class I to V, besides offering them scholarships.

Mr Mahar maintained steps were being taken to make Sindh a model province in the field of education.

Referring to problems of Pano Aqil taluka, Mr Mahar announced that a sports stadium and a new library building would be constructed in Pano Aqil and a rural health centre in Mulla Ali Mahesar village.

He also announced that 10 villages would be provided with electric supply and roads would be repaired in the taluka.

Regarding provision of Sui gas, he assured the people he would approach the federal government to provide gas connections to maximum number of villages in Pano Aqil taluka.

KIDNAPPED: A truck driver was kidnapped on the Indus Highway near Kashmor on Monday night.

Driver Abdul Majeed was on the way to Punjab with a police convoy when eight armed men intercepted his truck near the Doli check post and took him away along with the truck.
