KARACHI, March 25: Scores of veiled women, along with a large number of children, staged protest demonstrations outside the press club here on Tuesday against the US-led forces’ invasion of Iraq and heavy bombardment on civilian targets and population which has claimed lives of many innocent people.

The rallies were organized by Imamia Students Organization and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

The demonstrators denounced the US aggression and called upon the international community to play its role to bring an end to the inhuman atrocities meted out to the people of Iraq by the allied forces.

Leaders of Imamia Students Organization told the demonstrators that the US-UK invasion of Iraq was aimed at ensuring safety and security of Israel and strengthening the foundation of the illegitimate Zionist state.

They called for a unified strategy to be drawn by all the Islamic states to strike hard on the Zionist designs to weaken the Ummah.—PPI
