KARACHI: Women health project


KARACHI, March 25: Sindh Health Secretary Ashique Hussain Memon has directed the concerned officials to pace up the programme of women health project with proper utilization of funds amounting to Rs631.875 millions so that the target area can be reached.

This he said while attending a briefing on the project of women health programme in his office on Tuesday. The director of the WHP, Najam Ansari, said the programme was aimed at improving the health status of women, particularly those in the child-bearing age and children living in rural areas, at a cost of Rs631.875 millions.

She added that four districts had been nominated as women-friendly areas under the project to ensure provision of comprehensive health care facilities.

The health secretary said that under the programme 20 new ambulances had been acquired for distribution in civil and taluka hospitals of the province.—PPI
