SRINAGAR, March 24: All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned the murder of 24 Hindus by Indian security forces in held Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, 15 uniformed security personnel stormed village Nadigam in Shopian area of Pulwama district killing 11 men, 11 women and two children.

The APHC in a statement issued on Monday described the incident ‘abominable’. It gave a call for complete strike in occupied Kashmir for Tuesday.

The statement called for an impartial inquiry into the incident. Two APHC delegations, one led by Mohammad Yasin Malik, and another by Ghulam Mohammad Butt, visited the affected village and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

Democratic Freedom Party chief Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Jamaat-i- Islami of occupied Kashmir, Human Rights Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, Allama Iqbal Students Movement and various Kashmiri organizations had denounced the murder of Hindus.

Observers in Srinagar recalled that various investigations had revealed that the Indian secret agencies had been using Indian troops and their armed agents for collective murder of minority communities in order to stir up communal strife in occupied territory and to defame liberation movement.

They particularly referred to probes proving that 35 Sikhs were murdered by Indian armed agents in March 2000 at Chattisinghpura in Islamabad district.

A peaceful demonstration, led by APHC leader Farida Behanji, was subjected to use of brutal force at Lal Chowk. The demonstrators were protesting against innocent Kashmiris’ continued disappearances in custody. The protestors were subjected to baton charge. Eighty of them including Farida Behanji and Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement acting chairman Maulvi Bashir Ahmad were arrested.

A protest strike was also observed in held Kashmir on Monday against attack on Iraq.—APP
