SHEIKHUPURA, March 23: The Punjab government will soon announce a transport package for students.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Transport Rana Shamshad Ahmad on Sunday. He was talking to newsmen here.

He said that Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi would inaugurate taxi cabs service, on the pattern of Europe, in Lahore shortly. This service would also be introduced in other big cities of the province.

The minister said the government would ensure maximum transport facilities to the people. Private sector cooperation would also be sought in this regard.

INJURED: A truck driver and his helper were injured in an accident on Gujranwala Road near motorway interchange on Sunday.

In an attempt to save a car coming from the opposite direction, the driver lost control over the steering and the truck overturned. As a result, driver Aslam and helper Tassadaq were injured. Their condition was stated to be critical at a local hospital.
