Published March 24, 2003

KARACHI, March 23: Speakers at a demonstration on Sunday urged the world leaders to use their influence to stop the ongoing US-led aggression against Iraq.

They were speaking at the shroud-wearing demonstration organized by the Awami Himayat Tehreek, at the Karachi Press Club, to condemn the American attacks on the innocent people of Iraq.

The rally was organized on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

They also announced that if the war was not stopped they would observe a strike on Friday. They urged the people to forget their mutual disputes, forge unity and observe the strike, unanimously, to condemn the US-led aggression against the innocent Iraqis, including women, children and the elderly persons.

They regretted the ineffective role played by the United Nations Security Council, the Organization of Islamic Conference.

The AHTP chief Mulvi Iqbal Haider, Imran Shahzad, Khalid Zafar and others also spoke on the occasion.
