Pakistan Day today

ISLAMABAD, March 22: The Pakistan Day will be celebrated on Sunday throughout the country with national enthusiasm, fervour and in a befitting manner.

The day has been declared a national holiday and it will dawn with thanks-giving prayers in all mosques of the country and a 21-gun salute in the four provincial capitals. Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Ali Muhammad Mahar, along with members of the Sindh cabinet, will visit the Mazar of Quaid-i-Azam and lay a wreath in the morning.

The national flag will be hoisted on all principal public and private buildings. All government buildings have been illuminated with bunting and colourful flags.

Radio and television channels will air special programmes, highlighting importance of the day and play national songs. Noted workers of Tehrik-i-Pakistan will be invited to give their views in radio and TV programmes.—APP
