Security at oil, gas fields intensified

BADIN, March 22: Strict security measures have been taken at oil and gas fields in Badin district as heavy police contingents have been deployed at oil and gas wells in Shaheed Fazil Rahu and Matli talukas.

A meeting of the district administration was held here on Friday to review security arrangements and law and order situation in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, District Nazim Kamal Khan Chang directed the DCO, the DPO and other executive officers to effectively utilize the available resources to ensure security at the oil and gas fields and maintain law and order in the district.

The DCO, Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, informed the meeting that strict security measures were being taken and a control centre had been set up in the district headquarters.

He said that the government departments had been directed to chalk out contingency plans and officials of the departments were instructed not to leave Badin city without prior permission of the concerned authorities.

He said that security arrangements at mosques, Imambargahs, churches and temples had also been made.
