PESHAWAR, March 22: The provincial government in the wake of an attack on Iraq has beefed up security for the foreigners working at the Malakand-III hydel power station.
The interior ministry has instructed the Malakand levies to take all possible measures to avoid any untoward accident to the foreigners working at the under-execution public sector hydel power station and the relief workers of NGOs working.
In this respect, according to an official handout issued here on Friday, the commandant of Malakand levies has issued directives to his force’s post commanders to ensure full protection to foreigners entering into and going out of the Malakand protected areas - falling under the jurisdiction of the NWFP government.
“The post commanders have been directed to keep round-the-clock vigil on the exit and entry points of Malakand and the Malakand control room should immediately be passed on the information subsequently after foreigners enter or leave the area,” contained the handout while quoting the written instructions issued by the commandant of the Malakand levies.
The commandant has also banned all types of leave on application till further orders, and post commanders have been directed to ensure full presence of the personnel of Malakand levies in their posts concerned.
