Golden Jubilee match for Atif

KARACHI, March 21; Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will be holding an exhibition match involving an international XI and Pakistan XI to mark Golden Jubilee of Brig (R) M.H. Atif in field of hockey.

A spokesman of PHF said here Friday that this match will be played at National Hockey Stadium Lahore on April 27. Several of current former Pakistan players will be featuring in the match.

PHF has planned grand celebrations to pay tributes to Brig (R) Atif, who, served the game and remained in elite forum of International Hockey Federation for record fifty years.

FIH President Mrs Els Van Breda has confirmed to be in Lahore to attend the golden jubilee match.

FIH President decorated Atif with “FIH Membership of Honor” on Dec 5 in Perth (Australia) during its Congress amid standing ovation and memorable rounds of applause to Atif for his grand contribution in the sport.—APP
