TOBA TEK SINGH, March 21: The Government College for Women principal has urged the district government not to terminate the services of temporary lecturers which were appointed against vacant posts.

Principal Mrs Sabahat Basharat was speaking at a function in the college on Friday.

She said until lecturers were appointed through the Punjab Public Service Commission on permanent basis, the district government should continue the employment of the temporary lecturers so that the students’ time should not waste.

BODY FOUND: The body of an unidentified youth was found from a canal near Chak 268-GB.

The body was spotted by the villagers who informed the Rajana police.

ELECTROCUTED: In Madinaabad locality of Kamalia, one Ramzan was electrocuted.

Ramzan had reportedly installed wires around his small poultry farm to save his birds from thieves. He accidentally touched the wire as a result he died on the spot.

HUDOOD CASE: The city police registered on Friday a Hudood case against union council No 54 councillor Shahid Hamid, his accomplices Najam Iftikhar, Allah Ditta and Hasan Raza.

According to police, residents of Raja Park complained against the councillor and his accomplices that they used to bring prostitutes in a rented house of the locality.

Police raided the house and arrested Hasan while the others fled from the scene.
