KARACHI: Women’s rights highlighted

KARACHI, March 20: Sindh Chief Secretary K B Rind on Thursday said that all quarters of society, including social organizations, should play their due role to grant equal rights to women as ensured by Islam.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Advocacy and Communication’, held by the provincial NGOs’ council, Beijing Plus Sindh, as chief guest he said that different departments of Sindh government were already working for protection of women’s rights.

He said that a meeting of the government departments would be convened within next fifteen days in which women delegates would be invited and a line of action would be prepared for the resolution of women’s problems.

He said that women of China and Japan were hardworking and economically empowered, while in Pakistan efforts in this regard were being made through various social organizations.

Women perform a number of duties for their families, thus it was a national duty to provide all facilities to them, he said.—PPI
