RAWALPINDI, March 19: The additional district and sessions judge, Syed Pervez Ali Shah, on Wednesday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of four policemen for not complying with court orders.
The court issued arrest warrants of ASI Sarwar, head constable Mohammad Afzal and constable Rashid Ahmad of the Pirwadhai police station for not appearing in the court to record their statements in a Hudood case despite receiving several summon notices.
The same court also issued warrant for the arrest of the sub-inspector of New Town police station, Ghulam Yasin, for not recording his statement in a narcotics case despite being a witness.
In another case, the same court declared an accused, Insaf Akhtar, as proclaimed offender for failing to appear before court after securing bail.
According to Saddar Bairuni police, the accused had abducted and later assaulted a girl.
BAIL REJECTED: The judge of the anti-terrorist court no 2, Safdar Hussain Malik, rejected the bail application of an accused in a terrorism cum murder case.
The court rejected the bail application of the accused, Tariq Bashir, who, according to the prosecution, along with seven other co-accused trespassed and occupied the roof of a house and opened fire on its residents.
Four persons — Wazir Mohammad, Mohammad Bashir, Mohammad Aslam and Kulsoom Bibi — were shot dead in the attack, while another three — Sajid Shabbir, Mohammad Asim and Mohammad Nauman — were severely wounded.
Similarly, the civil judge, Hidayatullah Shah, rejected the bail application of an accused, Mohammad Shabbir, who had allegedly committed burglary in a house worth Rs0.8 million, besides some ornaments and other valuables.
According to the prosecution, the police had allegedly seized some stolen objects from his possession.
