LAHORE, March 18: Four more matches were decided in the Inter-varsity hockey championship Zone “A” at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore defeated Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan 3-0.

Riaz scored two goals in the match (15th and 40th minute). The third goal was scored by Taimur Sadiq in the 58th minute.

Punjab University outplayed Agriculture University, Faisalabad 3-0. Rashid Mansoor scored two goals for the winners (3rd and 58th minute).

Imran scored a goal in the 62nd minute to complete the tally.

Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad beat Government College University, Lahore 3-0. Ehsan-ul-Haq (3rd minute), Aqdas Naveed (23rd minute) and Mahboob (50th minute) scored a goal each. Three goals by Faheem helped Engineering University, Peshawar crush Engineering University, Taxila 6-0. Faheem struck in the 20th, 40th and 48th minute.

Faisal Mohiuddin added two goals (24th and 32nd minute). Ehtesham chipped in a goal. Zone ‘A’ matches will now be played at the university’s Old Campus ground from Wednesday. Zone ‘B’ matches, starting from Wednesday, will be played at the National Hockey Stadium.

Wednesday’s schedule: Zone “A” (Old Campus):

Agriculture University, Peshawar vs Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad; Engineering University, Taxila vs Peshawar University; Punjab University vs GC University, Lahore.

Zone “B” (National Hockey Stadium).

Islamia University, Bahawalpur vs NED Univ, Karachi; Sindh University vs Shah A Latif Univ.
