Terminal for kinoo export

FAISALABAD, March 18: Faisalabad Dry Port Trust (FDPT) would set up an export terminal at Sargodha to facilitate kinoo exporters, said Hafiz Muhammad Anees, collector customs, Faisalabad.

Addressing a reception hosted by FDPT here on Monday night, he said he was greatly impressed by the corporate culture of the fully equipped FDPT and Customs Offices, which was indicative of its bright future.

Hafiz Anees termed smuggling as death warrant to the national industry and said that stringent measures would be taken to discourage this menace particularly from this region.

Mukhtar Ahmed Sheikh, the chairman FDPT said that this upcountry export facility had emerged as biggest dry port of the country, which was handling 25,000 export and 5,500 import containers every year.

The value of these containers had crossed Rs75 billion mark, he added.

He said that same day clearance, double shift at dry port and expeditious payment of duty drawback claims were the added incentives for the exporters of this region.—APP
