Mahar, Jamali discuss Sindh law, order


ISLAMABAD, March 15: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar separately called on President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali here on Saturday.

He remained with the president for sometime and exchanged views on matters pertaining to Sindh.

At the meeting with Mr Jamali, Mr Mahar apprised him of law and order in the province and said peace was successfully maintained during Muharram in Sindh.

The prime minister on the occasion said that like other provinces, Sindh was playing a vital role in the economic development of the country.

He urged the chief minister to spare no effort in maintaining law and order and reviving peace in the province. The federal government would provide all possible assistance in this regards.

Both the officials exchanged views on uplift projects being undertaken in the province, funded by the federal government, and expressed the hope that their implementation would result in bringing socio-economic development of the area.—APP
