Seven killed in Kashmir

NEW DELHI, March 13: At least seven people were killed and 50 wounded in a blast on a bus in occupied Kashmir’s Rajouri town on Thursday.

The bus was going from Poonch to occupied Jammu.

Police alleged militants had planted an explosive device inside the bus at the Rajouri bus stand. When the bus was full of passengers, the explosive was detonated by remote control, they added.

Two people died instantly, and the rest died of injuries at a hospital.

Police said they had difficulties removing the injured from the area as protesters angry over the blast surrounded officials and roughed them up.

This is the second blast in Rajouri in the last three days. On Tuesday, two people were killed and eight others injured in an explosion at a tea stall. —dpa
