Ashura today

Published March 14, 2003

ISLAMABAD, March 13: Youm-i-Ashur, the 10th of Muharram, will be observed throughout the country on Friday (today) with religious fervour and solemnity.

Tazia, alam and zuljinah processions will be taken out in all cities and towns across the country.

In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, various religious organizations will take out processions which will culminate at the main imambargahs after passing through their traditional routes.

Zakireen, nauhakhawn, naatkhwan and khateeb will highlight the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions who laid down their lives for the supremacy of justice and righteousness.

Foolproof security arrangements have been made by the administration to ensure the protection of imambargahs, mosques and processions all over the country.—APP
