GUJRANWALA, March 13: A textile mill owner who was caught stealing electricity by Gepco and booked by Sabzi Mandi police on Wednesday, got an interim bail here on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a Gepco team had raided a dying and textile mill on Grand Trunk Road and removed the meter and other equipment on detecting electricity theft.

The raiding team had got an FIR registered against mill owner Hafiz Zahid Bashir besides issuing him a detection bill for millions of rupees, a Gepco spokesman said.

DISPUTE: District Naib Nazim Mehr Gohar Zaman claimed that the PPP leadership had hinted at the nomination of a person belonging to his group as party’s city president. He said that the conflict between MPAs Chaudhry Zahid Pervez and Chaudhry Shabbir Mehr would be settled amicably.
