TOBA TEK SINGH, March 13: Over two dozen devotees were injured in a road accident on Pirmahal-Shorkot Cantonment Road on Thursday morning.

The condition of four injured was stated to be critical.

According to details, around 50 residents of Gujranwala were going to Jhang in a bus (No GJ 6665) to attend the urs of Hazrat Sultan Bahu. The driver lost control over the steering because of overspeeding near Chak No 320 GB, some 30 kilometres away from here, and the bus overturned after colliding with a canal bridge.

As a result, over two dozen passengers were injured who were taken to a nearby rural health centre. Three of the injured men and a woman were later shifted to the DHQ Hospital because of their critical condition.

INDUSTRIAL ESTATE: The Punjab chief minister has approved the setting up of a small industries estate here.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Forests and Fisheries Dr Ashfaqur Rahman here on Thursday.

Speaking at a meeting, the minister said the chief minister’s secretariat had issued a directive to authorities concerned in this regard.

Dr Rahman said the health minister agreed to set up a THQ hospital in the old building of the district headquarters hospital in the town. — Correspondent
