Shah and Raja slam hat tricks

LAHORE, March 12: Three goals each by Shah Shamyl Alam and Raja Sattar helped Green Earth Recycling (GER) to enter the semifinal of the Spring Cup defeating Master Paints 8-2 on Wednesday.

GER will meet Care Knitwear in the prefinal on Saturday.

Master Paints could not score.

GER had eliminated the handicap lead of the rivals by the end of the first chukker as they led 3-2. Shamyl scored two goals while Agha Murtaza Ali, who scored two goals, struck his first.

Sattar, who registered hat trick, built up the lead to 5-2 in the second chukker by scoring back to back goals.

Sattar completed his hat trick by scoring his third goal in the third chukker as GER surged ahead 6-2.

In the final chukker, Shamyl scored his third goal followed by Murtaza’s second which made the tally.

Earlier, a last gasp goal by Mir Shoaib Ahmad enabled Diamond Paints to beat Surf 5-4 in the subsidiary semifinal.
