KARACHI, March 12: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, on Wednesday declared the results of Higher Secondary Certificate, Science (Pre Engineering), supplementary examinations-2002, with an overall pass percentage of 33.43.
A total of 7,050 appeared in the examination, out of which 2,357 were declared to have passed.
The HSC Science and General group results were also announced on Wednesday. In all 1,059 candidates appeared, while 213 were declared to have passed.
With the latest announcement of results, the process of supplementary examinations at Intermediate level in the faculties of Science, Humanities and Commerce, both for regular and private candidates, came to an end for the year.
As many as 27,743 candidates appeared in different examinations, excluding the Home Economics group, while 10,504 were declared to have passed, thus the overall pass percentage came as 37.86.
A maximum pass percentage was witnessed in the Humanities (regular) examinations, which was 42.42, while the lowest was recorded in the Science General group examinations, which remained as 20.11.
Result gazette was being issued provisionally, and as a notice only, while errors and omissions were expected and any entry appearing therein did not, in itself, confer any right to a candidate for the grant of any award or certificate, which would be issued under the rules and regulations.
A gender-wise breakdown of the successful candidates in the pre-engineering examinations remained as follows: A-1 grade, Nil, A grade, 1 female, B grade, 16 males and 11 females, C grade, 351 males and 232 females, D grade, 1,056 males and 595 females, E grade, 51 males and 44 females.
The breakdown of Science General examinations is as follows: A-1 grade, Nil, A grade, Nil, B grade, 3 males and 5 females, C grade, 34 males and 33 females, D grade, 113 males and 20 females and E grade, 5 males only.
