NA resumes gazette publication

ISLAMABAD, March 11: National Assembly has resumed publishing of its monthly gazette, a journal that covers parliamentary activities, after a gap of over three years.

The latest issue of The Gazette provides a detail of political scenario of the country after October 12, 2002 general elections.

It gives information about formation of National and provincial assemblies, number of seats and voters. The journal has covered all important events and meetings that took place in the parliament house after October 12 elections including meetings of President Pervez Musharraf and National Assembly Speaker with various ambassadors and other foreign delegations.

According to The Gazette, some new books have been placed in the National Assembly library including Taliban’s Ascent of Power by M.J. Ghori, Pakistan: Founder’s Aspirations and Today’s Realities by Hafeez Malik, India and Pakistan: The Cost of Conflict and Benefits of Peace by Maj-Gen Muhammad Ali Durrani (retired), Politicos’ Guide to Parliament by Susan Child, The White House and Pakistan by F.S.Aijazuddin, Reaping the Whirlwind: The Taliban Movement in Afghanistan by Michael Griffin and Parliamentary Procedure, 2 volumes by Sulhash C. Kashyap.

In his statement, NA secretary Saleem Mehmood said, “... it will, from now on, be published regularly.”
