SANGHAR, March 11: A villager was shot dead by three men on the pretext of Karo-kari in the Phul Faqir village, near Shahdadpur, on Monday night.

The victim, Ahmed Ali, 25, was sleeping in his guest room when three accused, Laloo, Murtaza and Mushtaq Rajpar, entered the room and fired at him with a pistol.

The victim received three bullets and died on the spot.

The father of the deceased, Gul, lodged an FIR with the Shahdadpur police who arrested the accused persons.

In his statement at the police station, one of the accused, Laloo, claimed that he had suspected the victim of having illicit relations with his sister.

Laloo said that he also wanted to kill his sister but was arrested by the police before doing that.

On the other hand, the complainant said that the deceased and the accused men had a dispute over an electric supply connection and had exchanged hot words a few days ago.
