KARACHI, March 11: A woman, Zaibunnisa, aged 45, was found murdered at her house in Liaquatabad late Monday night.

The police said Zaibunnisa had sent her son Raheel, aged 12, to her relations’ place in Korangi. When Raheel returned home on Sunday night he found the door locked from outside. So he spent the night at a tenant’s place on the second floor of the house.

On Monday evening, Raheel peeped into his house and saw his mother lying on the floor. The police were informed. They opened the door and found Zaibunnisa murdered.

The police said the woman was hit on the head by a blunt weapon.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where post-mortem was performed after a delay of several hours.

The police said the dead woman’s husband was away in Umerkot.

The torso of a teenage girl was found in a trunk at Cantt railway station early Tuesday morning.

After the police noticed an abandoned trunk lying on the platform, they informed the railway police, who opened the trunk and found a human torso in it. The torso appeared to be of a woman’s.

The torso was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors examined it. Doctors said the victim was in her late teens and her head, hands and legs were chopped off with a sharp-edged weapon.

Meanwhile, a human leg was recovered from an abandoned bag in Kharadar.

The police said they were informed that an abandoned bag was lying near Machhi Miani Market in Kharadar. The police opened the bag and found a human leg in it.

The leg was sent to Civil Hospital for examination.

The railway police said after examination it was revealed that the leg was of the body that had been found earlier at Cantt railway station.
