KARACHI, March 10: Trials to select a strong 16-member Pakistan squad for Asian Sailing Championship will start from March 15, Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF) announced on Monday.
11th Asian Sailing Championship will be held at Mumbai (India) May 2-10.
According to PSAF Secretary General Capt (Retd) A.R. Arshad, Pakistan will be featuring in Enterprise, Laser, 470, Mistral and Optimists boys and girls categories.
Four-day Enterprise and Laser class events will be held at Pakistan Navy Aquatics Club from March 15-18.
The trials will be best of seven race series with one discard, he said.
470 and Mistral Class trials will be held from March 19 to 22 followed by Optimist boys and girls trials from March 22 to 24 at PAF Yacht Club Korangi Creek.
Capt (Retd) Z.U. Chaudri will be the Chairman of the jury while A.R. Arshad will act as race officer.
Four sailors each in Enterprise and 470 and two each in Laser and Mistral and two boys and girls each in Optimist will be picked, he said.
Besides 16 sailors, four officials will also accompany Pakistan contingent.—APP
