PESHAWAR, March 10: The Pakistan People’s Party has lauded the Awami National Party’s decision against its three MPAs who had violated the party discipline.

The PPP termed it a healthy step towards the establishment of a true parliamentary democracy in the country.

In a statement here on Sunday, PPP provincial chief Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti said: “The ANP leadership deserves laurels for its timely decision against the defectors. It has paved the way for other political parties, betrayed by their MPAs, to take action against deserters and lotas in their ranks,” he added.

Mr Hoti said it was the real victory for Asfandyar Wali Khan and others, who failed to get seats in the general elections. The principled stand of the ANP leadership against the defectors had lifted its political image in the eyes of political parties, he added.
