Court seeks record

Published March 11, 2003

KOHAT, March 10: The NWFP election tribunal while accepting the application of former law minister Syed Iftikhar Hussain Gilani in which he has challenged the qualification of MNA from Kohat, Mufti Ibrar Sultan and sought his disqualification, has summoned the latter to appear before the court on March 17.

The tribunal in a notice issued to the MNA had asked him to produce the relevant documents to prove his claim that his Madressah degree was equivalent to the BA degree. Mr Gilani had submitted that the MNA should be disqualified as he was not qualified according to the constitutional requirement.
