PCB’s review body meets

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, March 8: World Cup’s review committee held a seven-hour long session at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday to outline its course of action.

The three-man committee, headed by Col Naushad Ali, was provided with footage of all six matches Pakistan played in southern Africa during their dismal campaign, along with statistics of players, grounds and the opponents and other relevant material.

PCB chairman Lt Gen Tauqir Zia constituted this so-called review committee, which also includes former Test pacer Aaqib Javed and ex-first-class cricketer Sultan Rana, to probe the reasons behind Pakistan’s worst ever performance in the history of World Cup.

Pakistan won just two matches — against minnows Namibia and Holland — unconvincingly and lost to Australia, England and India by comprehensive margins.
