LAHORE, March 7: Punjab Communications and Works Minister Zaheeruddin Khan has sought a report on the reasons of delay in completion of highway projects being executed on BOT basis.

He issued the directive at a meeting held here on Friday to review the progress of work on the highways. Provincial C&W secretary, superintending engineer (highways) and other officials concerned attended the meeting.

The minister took a serious view of the slow pace of work on the Lahore-Kasur Road and Lahore-Faisalabad dual carriageway being built at a cost of Rs4.9 billion. He ordered their completion in the shortest possible time.

He stressed the need for completion of formalities for starting the construction of the Lahore Ring Road and Faisalabad-Samundri Road as soon as possible.
