Two caught removing rails

SHEIKHUPURA, March 7: Railway police claimed having arrested two thieves after an encounter near the Barianwala railway station on Thursday night.

Following an information that six criminals were removing the railway line near Barianwala railway station, a police party conducted a raid. On seeing the police, the criminals opened fire which was retaliated. Following a shootout, two of the accused identified as Ilyas and Rashid were arrested, while their four accomplices, including Allah Ditta, Imran and Azhar, managed to escape.

The police also recovered a gas cylinder and other equipment from their possession.—APP
