New seating plan in NA from 10th

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 6: The parliamentary advisory committee of the National Assembly on Wednesday decided to change seating arrangement in the assembly from the alphabetic order to separate the treasury benches and the opposition from March 10.

The committee, which comprises treasury and opposition members, decided that parties in the government would be seated on the right side of the speaker while opposition parliamentary groups would be seated on his left.

While deciding that no remarks would be passed by the members on ex-presidents, ex-prime ministers, the leader of the house and those who were not present, it omitted the name of the president.

The committee decided that the debate on foreign policy would be held for five days and leaders of all parties would provide a list of speakers of their groups to the speaker each day.
