KARACHI, March 6: Saira, 20, daughter of Jamaluddin, was slaughtered by unidentified persons in a dacoity case at her home in Liaquatabad. However, the medico-legal section of three major government hospitals conducted the post-mortem after 18 hours of her death.

On March 5, first the brothers of the girl took the body to Abbasi Hospital where they were informed that the duty officer was not present. The family then took the body to the Civil Hospital where the officer concerned refused to conduct the postmortem and said the case did not take place in the jurisdiction of CHK and asked for the orders from the police surgeon.

The family returned to the Abbasi Hospital, but found nobody to perform the job. The Additional Police Surgeon, Jalil Qadir, sent the body to the JPMC where the body lied for another four hours, waiting for the doctor concerned.

At last the relatives, took the body to the Abbasi Hospital for the third time where after 18 hours of the murder, Dr. Yasmeen Qamar carried out the postmortem.
