Pakistan’s World Cup performances


JOHANNESBURG, March 4: Pakistan were dumped out of the World Cup on Tuesday when their final match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo was abandoned due to rain.

This ranks as the worst showing by a Pakistan team in the World Cup since the inaugural event was held in England in 1975.

Pakistan’s previous performances in the World Cup:

1975 First round Won one, lost two

1979 Semi-final Lost to West Indies

1983 Semi-final Lost to West Indies

1987 Semi-final Lost to Australia

1992 Champions Beat England in final

1996 Quarter-final Lost to India

1999 Runners-up Lost to Australia in final
