Ex-MPA held for filing fake papers

By Our Correspondent

MANSEHRA, March 4: Police arrested a former MPA for submitting a  fake Madressah certificate with his nomination papers filed for PF-57,  Mansehra-V, in the Oct 10 general elections.

Sakhi Mohammad Tanoli, ex-PML MPA, was arrested after his bail before arrest was rejected, officials said.

In another case, the bail plea of Zarin Gul Khan, former MPA from Kala Dhaka, tribal belt, was accepted. Mr Tanoli had submitted a certificate from Madressah, Quwatul Islam, Ghareebabad, Hyderabad, with his nomination papers.

Aurangzeb Asad, former president of district bar association had objected to the legality of the certificate produced by Mr Tanoli and lodged a complaint against him with the police.

The city police had registered an FIR in Sept 2002, against Mr Tanoli under sections 419,420,468,471, of the PPC.

The Additional Sessions Judge-I, Farooq Sarwar Khan, after hearing the arguments of the counsel rejected the plea.

However, the bail plea of Zarin Gul Khan was accepted.

Advocate Ahmad Farooq Khan appeared for Mr Tanoli and Shad Mohammad Khan pleaded the case of Mr Khan.
