KARACHI: Bahria College wins elocution competition


KARACHI, March 4: Fatima Shakeel of the Bahria College Islamabad won the annual English speaking competition held at a local hotel on Monday evening.

The contest was jointly organized by the English Speaking Union of Pakistan (ESUP) and the British Council Karachi.

Fauzi Dossal of Lyceum School Karachi was declared second. He was followed by Mohammad Ali Jan of Salamat Icas, Islamabad.

The first two position holders would participate in the international speaking contest.

Lt.Gen Moinuddin Haider, the chief guest on the occasion, gave away the prizes. In his address he praised the quality of the speeches made by the participants.

Byram D. Avari, President ESUP, In his welcome address, thanked the British Council for extending cooperation in organizing the contest.

He also acknowledged assistance from the sponsors including the Ahmed E.H. Jaffer Foundation and the ICI Pakistan Limited.—APP
