RAWALPINDI, March 3: Chief of Tehrik-i-Nifaz-i-Fiqh-i- Jafariya (TNFJ) Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mausavi on Monday appealed to the nation to remain peaceful during the month of Muharram.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Mausavi said some anti- Pakistan elements wanted to shatter peace and harmony in the country by arousing sectarian hatred. He asked the religious leaders to display brotherhood during Muharram by discouraging the enemies of Islam. He said Islam preached peace and brotherhood and despised disunity and disharmony among the Muslims.
He announced TNFJ’s 17-point code of Azadari in connection with Muharram in which he stressed on all schools of thought to preach their faith and ideologies in a positive manner. Besides, Ulema and Zakireen should promote unity, brotherhood and solidarity and give top priority to the integrity of the motherland.
According to the code, the government should adopt security measures at all sensitive spots to maintain law and order during Majalis-i-Aza and Azadari processions.
According to the code, if there is any threat at any place then, as a solution there should be no change in the procession route, infact it should be assisted so that it could reach its destination with respect and honour. In case of any untoward incident, the issue may be resolved through contacting the local administration and the local Muharram committee of the TNFJ.
