8 killed, 20 injured in accident

GUJAR KHAN, March 3: Eight persons were killed and 20 others injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned at about 2.30pm near Mandra on Monday.

According to eyewitnesses, the Lahore-bound bus (IDT-3599) coming from Rawalpindi skidded off the slippery road at Kaliam Mor near Mandra and overturned.

The ambulances of rural health centres and Edhi shifted the bodies and the injured to rural health centre, Mandra, and THQ Hospital, Gujar Khan.

According to an injured passenger, who’s 4-year-old son and two others of his family died said that bumpy and slippery road caused the bus to skid and overturn. He was going with his family to for a wedding.

Those in critical condition were admitted to DHQ Hospital, Rawalpindi.
