KARACHI, March 3: Extra-curricular activities play an important role in grooming and training students for holding future responsibilities in a welfare state.
This was the gist of speeches at various events held in connection with the students’ week of the Government Gulshan Degree College (boys). The programmes, supervised by Prof Talat Rafi, were largely attended by students and teachers.
Principal Prof Syed Mohammad Waseem told the students that they were lucky to have the opportunity of college education over other youths who could not make it. He said extra-curricular activities helped in cultivating healthy mental faculty and balanced personality. Prof Siddiqui said that being future of the country, the students’ motto should be to love Pakistan and to utilise all their faculties to turn the country into a welfare state.
Prizes were distributed among winners by the chief guests who also praised the organising committee.
