Oil prices

LONDON, March 3: Oil prices slumped on Monday in volatile trading as US war plans suffered a blow after Iraq destroyed more banned missiles and the Turkish parliament rejected the deployment of US troops on its soil.

The price of benchmark Brent North Sea crude oil for April delivery dropped to $32.38 per barrel in late trading here from $32.79 at the close of the previous session.

In New York, the benchmark light sweet crude April contract tumbled 92 cents to $35.68 per barrel in early deals.—AFP
