ISLAMABAD, March 3: Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Monday signed three major, umbrella agreements and other related loan and project agreements in Manila.

According to these agreements, ADB would provide large funds for the Sindh Rural Development Programme and strengthening the financial (non-bank) markets and governance programme in Pakistan.

As an authorized representative of Pakistan, Ambassador Iftikhar Kazmi signed these agreement, while Mr Tadao Chino, President ADB signed them on behalf of the Bank, says a fax message received here from Manila. ADB continues to be a key economic partner of Pakistan. Over the years, it has extended crucial development assistance to Pakistan.—APP
